Karen Susanne Playforth, MD

Lexington native Karen Playforth, MD, joins UK HealthCare from St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital in New York, where she has been since 2001. During her time at St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital, Dr. Playforth completed her residency and fellowship and went on to work as an OB/GYN attending physician.

Prior to that, she had completed her undergraduate work at Wellesley College in Wellesley, Mass., and received her medical degree from the UK College of Medicine. Dr. Playforth was trained and specializes in maternal-fetal medicine. Her clinical interests include labor induction, electromyography and gestational diabetes.
