Patrick Hannon, Ph.D.

Assistant Professor
University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, 2015

Science and achievement in the laboratory is accomplished by extraordinary teamwork. I am fortunate that the teammates in my lab are a hardworking, inspiring, and close-knit bunch. I feel that those associated with my lab are passionate about all aspects of life. We really are about making science, research, and life fun, and the descriptions below are designed to showcase some of the fun we have outside the laboratory. My passions include hiking, traveling, and exploring new places and cultures with my wife, Grace. We also enjoy playing with our cat (Chief) and dog (Alma) and cheering on our favorite sports teams: University of Illinois Fighting Illini, Chicago Bears, Chicago White Sox, and Chicago Blackhawks.

Priscila Garcia

Lab Technician
Berea College 2018

I joined the Hannon lab just this year, 2019, and I have been learning a lot since then. I am originally from Mexico, Morocco, and Spain but I graduated from Berea College (USA) in 2018 with a bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry and Agriculture. I like being part of Curry's lab because I have an interest in being a PA one day, specializing in women’s reproductive health. As a woman, it’s important to me to help women and I think this lab work is a great way to do that, as well as a great beginning for my career. In my free time, I enjoy writing, watching movies, listening to and playing music, traveling, running, and I love anything outdoors.

Lab Assistant-Undergraduate Student

I have been an undergraduate lab assistant in the Hannon Lab since the summer of 2018. I am currently a junior at the University of Kentucky majoring in biology and minoring in chemistry. I am pre-med and interested in anesthesiology or OB/GYN as a specialty after medical school. I am an active member of the APO service fraternity and I am also involved in ASB at UK. Through them I participate in service trips overseas and in the states. I am from Georgetown, KY and love going to concerts and anything that involves coffee. I hope to attend medical school at UK and continue reproductive endocrinology and toxicology research for the rest of my time here.

Hello! I am an undergraduate research assistant in the Hannon Lab. I am currently a Psychology major on the Pre-Physician’s Assistant track here, at the University of Kentucky. I am an active member in my sorority and am involved in other organizations on campus as well. When I’m not in the lab, I am most likely out driving with my windows down and my music playing.

Greetings! I have been an undergraduate lab assistant in the Hannon Lab since the summer of 2019. I am a sophomore at the University of Kentucky where I am double majoring in Biology and Neuroscience, as well as minoring in Spanish on a pre-medical track. I fell in love with medicine at an early age, and I am ecstatic to continue my studies in hopes of attending medical school and becoming a surgeon. I am an active member in various organizations at UK, including Global Brigades, Chi Omega, Tri-Beta Biological Honors Society, UK Service Corps, Christian Student Fellowship, STEMCats, and more. I am from Carmel, Indiana, and when I am not studying, I enjoy rock climbing, hiking, yoga, photography, guitar, and any activity involving dogs or coffee.

Ashley Roark

Research Coordinator
Northern Illinois University 2013

I am a native resident of Illinois, but the people, horses, and overall beauty of Kentucky captured a piece of my heart and relocation soon became my focus.  I have many interests which include traveling, boating, reading, and spending time outdoors with my cameras in hand.  I graduated from Northern Illinois University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Health and Human Sciences and I am looking forward to continuing my studies at the University of Kentucky.  While our research team is hard at work in the lab, I support their efforts administratively as they continue striving for the deliverance of optimal care for women in Kentucky.

Josh Wills

Program Coordinator
University of KY, 2006

I graduated from UK with BBA degree in Finance and have been employed with the university for 10 years in Research Financial Services.  In April 2019, I joined the OB/GYN team with budgetary responsibilities and operations.  It is very rewarding seeing the research and passion invested and being able to help facilitate such matters.  Born and raised nearby in Winchester, Kentucky my family of two girls (Piper & Emersyn) and Wife (Courtney) are avid Wildcat fans and surely “bleed blue”.  I also enjoy outdoor adventures, soccer, and a big fan of movies and popcorn!
