John C. Allen received his Master’s in Business Administration from Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1986. Since 1991, he has served as Department Administrator for the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Kentucky Medical Center. In this role, John is responsible for the human resource management, fiscal management, clinic operations, strategic planning, recruitment of faculty and staff, and public relations of a department with 150 faculty and staff members serving 50,000 patient visits/yr with 2000 deliveries/yr and 1500 surgical cases/yr. Additionally, he has developed community based practices for the Department. Prior to this, John served as Department Administrator for the Department of Radiation Medicine at the University of Kentucky for three years developing outreach clinics. From 1984 to 1988, John was Manager of Cost/Budgeting at Good Samaritan Hospital. John is a member of the Association of Managers in Gynecology and Obstetrics (AMGO) and the Medical Group Management Association (MGMA). He is also a registered medical coder.
Margaret Hall received a B.S. in Accounting from the University of Kentucky and a B.A. in Sociology from Illinois Wesleyan University. Before joining the OB/GYN Business Office staff in 2013, she was the Administrative Director of the Division of Gynecologic Oncology and the Ovarian Cancer Screening Program. As an Internal Auditor for UK, she performed engagements in the College of Medicine. Maggie brings experience as a Certified Public Accountant to her role supporting the business functions of the OB/GYN department.
Suann Reese has over twenty years experience in budgeting, fiscal planning, management and administration as well as a Bachelors of Arts in Economics from the University of Kentucky. Ms. Reese has been employed at the University of Kentucky since 2002 and in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology since June 2010. Prior to coming to work at the University of Kentucky she was employed with the Office of the Attorney General administering the VAWA, VOCA, Byrne, and Juvenile Justice Grants.
Ms. Reese is the Research Coordinator for the BIRCWH program housed in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, the NIH program grant secured by Dr. Thomas Curry, "Ovulation and Luteal Formation in Rodents, Monkeys, and Women", as well as other research objectives and on-going projects for Dr. Ann Coker, Dr. Curry, and Dr. Misung Jo. Ms. Reese also directs the administrative functions of the Kentucky Women's Health Registry which was established to help advance medical knowledge about women's health.
In addition to her roles in research, Ms. Reese is responsible for the coordination of the Faculty Distribution of Effort reporting, budget and fiscal issues concerning research in the Department, and acts as the web site administrator for OB/GYN.
|Linda Sager is the assistant to the Departmental Chair, Dr. Wendy Hansen. Linda also assists with the weekly Grand Rounds and has many other duties.|
Kathy Walker has been with the University of Kentucky, OB/GYN department since 2007. Before coming to the University, Ms. Walker was employed by Kenton Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center for 10 years as the Human Resources/Payroll Director. Prior to that, Ms. Walker held the position of Accounting Supervisor at Good Samaritan Hospital for 13 years and was the Payroll Manager at Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas. Kathy loves working and supporting her fellow co-workers and the staff and Faculty in the department.
