Dr. Rone to attend APGO Surgical Education Program

Congratualtions to Dr. Brian Rone on his acceptance to the APGO Surgical Education Scholars Program!   The APGO Surgical Education Scholars Program is an initiative of the Association of Professors of Gynecology and Obstetrics (APGO). Its purpose is to enhance surgical education in obstetrics and gynecology by preparing ob-gyn physician faculty to possess the skills and knowledge necessary to be outstanding surgical teachers and educational administrators. September 2014 marks the start of the inaugural program cycle.

 

Upon completion of the curriculum, it is expected that graduates be skilled in:

  • instructional theory (adult learners)
  • small group instruction
  • clinical instruction
  • feedback performance
  • assessment of performance/knowledge
  • educational research designs
  • management/leadership skills
  • implementing patient safety techniques
